We are thrilled to announce that Ithaka Architecture and Design renowned for its expertise in industrial projects, has finished working for the upcoming American-Armenian metallurgical plant in Yeraskh, Armenia. This is a significant milestone for our company, and we are excited to contribute our skills and knowledge to this groundbreaking project.

The construction of a new metallurgical plant is an ambitious and complex undertaking. It requires meticulous planning, engineering expertise, and careful execution to ensure the successful establishment of a state-of-the-art facility. In this blog post, we will explore the key considerations and steps involved in building a new metallurgical plant, from the initial conceptualization to the final commissioning.

The main production structure is a three-nave building with spans of 24, 22 and 22 meters and a pitch of 9 meters. First shed has 12 meters height and 275 meters long, second shed has 18 meters height and 186 meter long and the third shed has 26 meters height and 121 meters long.&nbsp;
It has a rectangular, "m" shaped outline. The structure is divided into 9 parts by deformation beams.
The roof of the structure is double-sloped. It is planned to be implemented with profiled sheets and external drainage.&nbsp;

The floor is planned to be made with concrete slabs, dry laying method.
&nbsp;
Lighting is carried out both artificially and naturally, through reinforced glass windows installed along the outer perimeter and skylights installed on the roof.

Ithaka Studio has recently announced that they are branching out into the design of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). This move comes in response to the growing demand for affordable housing in urban areas, and the firm's desire to provide sustainable and aesthetically pleasing solutions.

What is an ADU?

An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), also known as a granny flat, is a self-contained living unit on the same property as a primary residence. These units can be attached or detached from the main house and can range from a small studio apartment to a larger living space with multiple rooms. ADUs have become increasingly popular in recent years as a way to provide affordable housing options for families, students, and retirees.

Ithaka has always put sustainability as a base of every project.  We were thrilled to participate in NET ZERO CONFERENCE at the Los Angeles Convention Center, on September 15, 2022
Over the last nine years, the Net Zero Conference has brought together those who understand it takes all of us to overcome climate change. 
This year's focus areas are: Carbon + Climate + Equity + ESG + Net Zero + Resilience
World-class speakers from multidisciplinary backgrounds have held our conference stage. 
In his letter, Net Zero Conference founder Drew Shula said: "We know climate action is urgent, and we’re collectively pushing as hard as we can to get off fossil fuels (oil, coal, and natural gas) and create a zero carbon economy. While each of us is making an incredible impact via our day-to-day work, it’s so important for us to come together to share ideas, strategies, and best practices. That collaboration is key to us mitigating climate change enough to avoid exceeding the Paris 1.5°C threshold.
Our goal is for the Net Zero Conference to provide education and connection within our community, make an as little impact as possible on the environment, and advocate for positive social change." 
It was a great opportunity to meet 1,500+ attendees from 53 countries and 45 U.S. states spanning all industries. 
We are looking to the 2023 Net Zero Conference to share even more new ideas on solving climate change issues.
